A story from a parishioner:

This morning finds me reflecting on yesterday’s gathering at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church. So many warm feelings come over me as I ponder our special community and the encouraging ways that we love and support one another. The prayers for those celebrating birthdays and those in need of comfort and healing were especially poignant and provided a physical expression of a very powerful spiritual act. I hope those prayers were as uplifting to those being prayed for as they were to me. Whether there are opportunities to celebrate or challenges to be overcome, this community embraces them.

This photo is yet another example, a personal one, of the relationships that have developed as a result of being part of this family of God. Last week while Jim was away for a few days, some unforeseen circumstances offered me opportunities to “stretch” in my role as farm dweller. In brief, one involved herding a fugitive cow and moving hay to a new field via tractor, none of which was on the list of chores I had been given. Not a big thing for most folks, but out of my typical repertoire, so I was ecstatic when I met the challenge.

Our sweet friend, David Gourd was aware of the situation, and created this charm to symbolize and celebrate my accomplishment. He was as happy about my victory as I was, and that, my friends, is what family is about! David is one of so many who makes Good Shepherd Episcopal Church a wonderful place to love and serve. This “Green Acres Gal” is feeling blessed!
