Food baskets for families
Each year at Thanksgiving and Christmas Celebrations Good Shepherd in conjunction with the Sapulpa Public Schools
prepares food baskets for Thanksgiving and both food basket and children's gifts at Christmas for children that according
to the counselors are less fortunate children. The list is normally limited to 25 families. At the beginning of Advent, we
place the names of these children in need on the Jesse Tree. Members of the church take names and purchase appropriate
gifts for the child that is described on the name card. This ministry has become a tradition in Sapulpa.
ECW (Episcopal Church Women)
The women of Good Shepherd Hold bake sales, spaghetti dinners and fifth Sunday dinners to accumulate funds to provide scholarships to summer camp for the children
of Good Shepherd. The ladies also take upon themselves special project such as new furniture for the Parlor and for new vestment and linens.
Food Pantry
Good Shepherd maintains a food pantry to aid those who are "down on their luck" and need a helping hand to put food on the table for their children. This ministry is not just
limited to those who have children in the family but also to aid those who suffer the pangs of hunger for any reason.
Prayer Chain
Good Shepherd maintains both a phone prayer line as well as an e-mail messaging service to inform the members of the church of any prayerful need among the citizens of
our community. The e-mail service covers approximately 6 states and feeds other prayer lines in the network of prayer
Holy Smokers
The men and women of Good Shepherd get together occasionally to smoke meats in a specially designed smoker. We raise money for the church building fund through the
saleof the items we smoke. We prepare ribs, chicken, ham, bologna, and occasional specialty items. We usually do the smoking before major church or community
holidays suchas Thanksgiving, Easter, July 4th and other times. Please call the church office and inquire as to our next smoking event and to place your order.
